Birmingham Newborn Photographer - Documenting the Details

As a Birmingham newborn photographer, my goal is always to create a relaxed, enjoyable experience that results in photos you’ll cherish for years to come.

recently had the pleasure of capturing little Teddy, at home. His newborn session took place later than originally planned but I think these photos show how you can get such beautiful photos even if you’re not able to fit a session in during those first few weeks of life. I love shooting newborns/babies at home as it allows for a much more relaxed and personal experience. Documenting the details of the nursery that’s bound to change a lot over the first few years. Getting a glimpse into the home, where this new life is being nurtured. It all feels so special & adds to the value of the photos we make together.

Izzy wore a dress from my studio wardrobe for this session – I love to take the stress out of worrying what to wear & provide guidance to each of my client’s when planning outfits for sessions. My client’s are always welcome to borrow a dress from my studio wardrobe – saving time and money instead of feeling the need to shop for something new!

Here are some tips for a beautiful, low stress in-home newborn shoot:

Create a comfortable environment for your baby by turning up the heating if you’re shooting in the colder months.
Embrace imperfection: Don’t worry about a perfectly clean house – the focus is on your family.
Follow your baby’s lead: taking breaks as needed for feeding, changing, or soothing.
Incorporate personal touches: Whether it’s a favorite toy, blanket, or piece of nursery decor, include items that hold sentimental value to your family.
Trust your photographer: Choose a photographer who specialises in natural, unposed photography and let them work their magic in capturing the beauty of your family’s bond.
